Greek Goddess Transformation

The other day my sister and I were talking about Greek goddesses and which one we wanted to be if we could choose. I told her that since there wasn't any that fit my personality well enough, if I could be a goddess of anything, I'll be the Goddess of Happiness.

Well, that conversation inspired me to make this hair tutorial. It's simple, yet elegant and innocent. If I was a goddess, this is probably how I would look like. Haha.. This is mainly a Spring hairstyle that could be worn during the warm weather to embrace your long hair. I hope you guys like it!

Note: I am wearing my 20" hair extensions.

Mac Mini Haul

I purchased some items from Mac yesterday and I just wanted to share my mini haul. It's been a good five months since I've bought anything from Mac so I just had to go there. I got two blushes, an eyeshadow brush, gel liner, and concealer.

The video pretty much speaks for itself, but below is just a quick run through of the products.

The one to the right is the powder blush in Peachykeen and the one to the left is the mineralize blush in Danity. The camera didn't pick up their true colors so both of the blushes look almost identical, but in person Peachykeen is a little bit on the red side and just like its name, it has a peach/coral tone to it. As for Danity, it is a pink blush with swirls of gold. These two blushes will be great for spring/summer!

This is the 217 blending brush. The bristles are very soft and dense; perfect for getting into the crease.

Okay, so if you've watched my video, you would know that I wasn't a very big fan of the Mac liquid liner. It always clumped up and fell off every time I went in to make a second stroke so I have been using the Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid liner and it has been so much better than the Mac liquid liner. I have always wanted to try a gel liner so I decided to give the Fluidline in Blacktrack a try.

The last item is the Studio Sculpt Concealer. I've been trying to find a good concealer for the longest and since I've been hearing very good things about this concealer I wanted to see for myself if it is as good as they say. I'm hoping this concealer will be great for the under eye area.

That's about it for my mini haul. I can't wait to try everything out to see how good or bad they are. My fingers are crossed that none of these items are bad, but even if they are, I am still in luck because Mac has a very good return policy. I am planning to start makeup tutorials soon so be on the look out for it. Have a great day everyone!

Hello Spring!

Thank goodness I live in the south so spring comes early for us. It's such an exciting season for me! It's so beautiful and I can get me some vitamin D! Lately, every time I go shopping, I've been seeing floral prints everywhere and I just want to purchase all of them! But, I am resisting from going all out because style is constantly changing.

Yesterday was a beautiful day so I took some pictures to share with you guys my first Spring 2011 look/outfit of the day. Of course it's nothing special and I was home alone like usual so I used self timer that's why it cuts off at my knees. I would have done an outfit of the day video instead, but I don't have a full size mirror yet so maybe next time.

Everything I am wearing was purchased from my favorite store: Forever 21.
Like I mentioned earlier, florals are a big hit this spring. I love the sheer blouse. The creme color with burgundy and light pink/peach print fits in with the birth of spring perfectly. The lace on the chest accentuates the top. Nothing too heavy; perfect for warm weather. I paried it with regular denim shorts which you can never go wrong with! I'm wearing my baby pink seashell earrings from my Forever 21 accessories haul. Lastly, side-pinned bouncy waves/curls are very fun and flirty. To me, spring is all about lightweight clothes because it's hot and I don't want my clothes to be bothering me by adding heat.

Well, I made a tutorial on how to achieve the look in my pictures but I'm not sure if I am going to upload it since it's pretty basic and easy; neutral eyes and pink lips with curls pinned to one side. We'll see if I decide to put it up in the next few days or not.

PS -
I think peach and pink are my colors this spring. Those two colors have been very appealing to me. ;)

Blue Nails with Black and Silver Stripes

Hi everyone! Today is a very gloomy day in the south. I couldn't sleep at all last night and was up until 3 a.m. which was when it started raining and it hasn't stopped. On the bright side, spring is definitely coming. We've been having really nice warm weather in the 70's lately so I cannot complain. I hope all of you in other parts of the world are experiencing some nice weather as well! My heart goes out to Japan as they are recovering from the earthquake and tsunami. May God be with each and everyone who has lost a loved one and/or are suffering from the natural disaster that occurred last Friday.

Here is the nail tutorial on my nails in my haul video. This is a bold, yet sophisticated look. Even though it is very simple, the silver and black stripes adds a pop of color and gives it more dimension.

A very special thanks to my sister for providing her piano pieces for my videos.

Note: I apologize for the angle of the video. I know you can barely see when I am creating the stripes. I didn't notice that until later on during editing. I will make sure the view is better for future videos ;)

Products used:
OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in Blue It
Kiss Nail Art Paint in Black
Kiss Nail Art Paint in Silver
OPI Top Coat

The Sally Hansen polish in Blue It was very thick so I had to carefully take my time while painting. The color was really pretty in the bottle and since I've never used it in the 4-5 months that I've had it, I decided to give it a try in this tutorial. The consistency was very thick so it took longer than the usual to dry.

Faux Bob/Messy Updo

Hi everyone! This tutorial is of a messy updo much similar to Taylor Swift and many other celebrities' faux bob on the red carpet. It's quick and easy. It's perfect for a date or night out. You don't need to be a hair stylist to achieve this look. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Note: I didn't use any hairspray because my curls usually stay put without any, but you may need it depending on your hair type.

Products used:

Paddle brush
Croco clips
Bobby pins
Hot Tools 1" curling iron

Disclaimer: All products mentioned in the video were purchased with my own money.

Below are a few pictures that I took with the finished look. I apologize that my pictures are quite dark because towards the wrap up of my tutorial, my battery died so I had to charge my battery and by the time it finished it was around 5 pm already. Also, my apartment lighting is super dark. I don't know whether it's due to the type of light bulbs that were installed or what, but this will do for now.

Also, before I go, I just wanted to let you guys know that the other day I purchased a few accessories from Forever21 and I will be doing a haul video of all the goodies I got once it arrives. It's expected date is this Thursday so I'll have the haul video up by Friday, hopefully. Until then, take care! ;)
