Beautiful 1 Minute Bun

Here is a super quick and easy tutorial on how to achieve this beautiful bun in just a minute. I love how it looks like there was a lot of time and effort put into it, but in reality it is really easy.

I hope you guys enjoyed this video! A special thanks to my lovely guest, Chialyna. She will be featured in more of my videos now that my hair is too short to perform tutorials on it, but on a side note, I'll probably have a few tutorials for short hair too. I have to say I miss my long hair, but I also enjoy my short hair too so I'm not too sad over it. Lol. I hope you guys have a beautiful day!

Katniss Everdeen Inspired Braid #1

Lately I've been quite obsessed with braids due to the extremely hot weather. I usually like to leave my hair down either straight or curled, but the weather has taken it's toll and I can no longer stand having my hair down.

I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games and I love the very simple dutch braid Jennifer Lawrence aka Katniss Everdeen wore in the movie. Since it was so hot the other day, I decided to create the famous side dutch braid, but added a twist to it.

This look is very easy, it took me less than 5 minutes to braid my hair and pin it up. It's great for any occasion and can be worn casually or with a few pretty hair pieces, it can turn into a beautiful updo. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and stay tuned for my Katniss Everdeen inspired braid #2 tutorial coming shortly along with some special announcement that I think you guys will be very excited about! : )

Easy 3 Minute Side Bun

Sorry, I've been away for almost two weeks now. Like I mentioned in one of my latest video/blog, I've been so busy lately, working and running errands, trying to get things submitted before their due dates, and the list goes on and on. It will surely, yet slowly die down a little I hope.

I've been trying to stay away from heat tools whenever possible to improve the health of my hair. I have thick and slightly wavy hair so I used to always straighten my hair everyday when I was still in school. It will usually take me a good 15 minutes to straighten my hair and now with the really high southern temperatures, I'm always sweating like crazy while at it, but this new hair style takes literally 3 minutes to do only. I came up with a messy side bun and I have been loving it so much, it is definitely my everyday hairdo now.

Usually whenever I have a messy do, I would pin my strands of hair to create the messy effect and I'll end up using well over 15 bobby pins. This hairstyle, because I braided it first, pulling on the braid causes the messy effect and I only need about 5 bobby pins to pin the hair away.

It's messy, but it still looks nice and with the correct hair accessory to dress it, you can transform it into a formal hair style.

Hope you all enjoyed! ;)

Greek Goddess Transformation

The other day my sister and I were talking about Greek goddesses and which one we wanted to be if we could choose. I told her that since there wasn't any that fit my personality well enough, if I could be a goddess of anything, I'll be the Goddess of Happiness.

Well, that conversation inspired me to make this hair tutorial. It's simple, yet elegant and innocent. If I was a goddess, this is probably how I would look like. Haha.. This is mainly a Spring hairstyle that could be worn during the warm weather to embrace your long hair. I hope you guys like it!

Note: I am wearing my 20" hair extensions.

Products mentioned:
Paddle Brush
Bobby pins

All hail, Goddess Maikia has come back to Earth! =P

Before I leave I just want to say thank you to all those who have been watching my videos and viewing my blog. Even though it may not be thousands of people, it still makes me very happy and it inspires me to continue making tutorials to share with you all! ;)

Faux Bob/Messy Updo

Hi everyone! This tutorial is of a messy updo much similar to Taylor Swift and many other celebrities' faux bob on the red carpet. It's quick and easy. It's perfect for a date or night out. You don't need to be a hair stylist to achieve this look. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Note: I didn't use any hairspray because my curls usually stay put without any, but you may need it depending on your hair type.

Products used:

Paddle brush
Croco clips
Bobby pins
Hot Tools 1" curling iron

Disclaimer: All products mentioned in the video were purchased with my own money.

Below are a few pictures that I took with the finished look. I apologize that my pictures are quite dark because towards the wrap up of my tutorial, my battery died so I had to charge my battery and by the time it finished it was around 5 pm already. Also, my apartment lighting is super dark. I don't know whether it's due to the type of light bulbs that were installed or what, but this will do for now.

Also, before I go, I just wanted to let you guys know that the other day I purchased a few accessories from Forever21 and I will be doing a haul video of all the goodies I got once it arrives. It's expected date is this Thursday so I'll have the haul video up by Friday, hopefully. Until then, take care! ;)
